hi guys. i swear i made this intro thread a long time ago, but maybe i didn't. i usually just come in every few months and lurk. i envy how much time you guys put into your rides. i have a '70 hilux, and i've driven it every day for the past two years. it's a lifelong work truck with an unknown number of miles and unknown number of previous owners, pretty rough around the edges, but generally straight and still runs strong. i have no plans to turn it into a custom, but i'd like to take care of the deferred maintenance items and improve it over time. maybe lower it just a little. it's pretty much my dream car. you can see pics of it here. (oldparkedcars is the car-spotting blog that my brother and i do together.) the turn signals were mounted inside the grill when i bought the truck, but i've moved them on top of the fenders since those photos were taken. here's a photo of it hauling a 16-foot garage door...
Welcome! Glad to hear that you've been enjoying this vintage truck. Just don't see many of them around these days especially in working order. Keep it vintage looking because "Old School is the Cool School!!!" Rick
Love it buddy. Seeing it used is all the better. I remember putting 20 16' 2x4s in my 78 similarly. Left the end against the tailgate instead though so they didn't slip off. Post more pics. I saw the pics on your other page before.
