So after the start to my tare down
Ive discovered to things upon my removal of
    My vavlve cover
#1 my timing was horribly off at least 180 out
#2. Number 3 cyl. Exhaust side head stud has
Welded it self to my block.
What can you expect after 500k on a stock engine ?
****ed part is i can tell it hasnt been touched sense the 80s still has the metal and asbestose gaskets...
If i didnt have bad luck id have none at all

Well, you have once again proven the longevity of these R motors. I'm clocking in 278,000 on my truck. It saw most of its travel in its earlier days, but I'm now about 1 mile away from work. You can say my truck in now semi-retired clocking in mileage and is aging gracefully.

Yeah, #3 head bolt has seized itself in the block. I wish you luck on the removal.

After you get these issues solved, you'll be good to go and enjoy the truck once again!
