Does anyone have both a 2wd and a 4wd that they can compare the radiator sizes on?
I was looking at aluminum radiators on Ebay, but the 4x4 dual row is half the price of the 2wd version.

Was wondering if the mounts are different or if they would interchange.

as far as i know, all of the mounts *should* be the same.

if the 2wd and 4wd have the SAME radiator supports, then the radiators should bolt across.

22RE and 3VZ-E are different im sure (pipe locations and all)

From what I have learned and done, the 4 and 6 cylinder rad's are more or less interchangable. The only issue to worry about is some of the ebay ones don't have the heater hose hookup down off the lower rad hose.

I swapped one of the ebay specials into my 78 though and have loved it. Runs real cool down the freeway even in the midst of summer heat. I used a 90-95 V6 4runner direct replacement. It is slightly thicker with 2 or 3 cores vs my stock 1 core. It's also quite a bit taller. So the bottom is down much lower, but that may only be an issue on the 78 and older trucks, since they had such a shorter nose section. I can get specs from mine tomorrow if you need though. As for the hook up, the holes matched up almost dead on. Just ovalized them slightly to line up. I didn't even run a shroud. Rad hose diameter and location is the same on the radiator side, so that shouldn't be an issue. Mine did take the smaller sized rad cap, so make sure to get a good one for it if your current setup has the larger cap.

    I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Thank you for that info. I knew the core was slightly longer, but I'll check to see if that is going to be a problem. And I scored a Black Magic Flexalite fan on Ebay for $113 for a 4x4. I figured I'd take my chances on it, and it may work out well since I plan to install my turbo this summer. Extra heat needs extra cooling here in sunny Florida.

for the later trucks i think they sourced the heater inputs elsewhere so that could be it. its easy to swap them around though.

Heater hoses come off the head on the 84+ engines so the lower nipple is irrelevant to this discussion. ;)

The only mounting difference I've found is with the shroud. Some 2x's have a different mounting pattern than 4x's but you'll be using an electric fan so that is irrelevant too.
