hi guys, im new...but not new to toyotas.

ive seen a few pics on this site of 2nd gen pickups with the 4runner composite front ends.

i also noticed that eary tacoma composite front ends are similar in dimensions.

has anyone installed a taco grill/headlights on a 2nd gen??

if not i want to do the 4runner composites, what all is involved?? im not afraid of a saw or welder, but need to know before i start

    thanks guys!

To do the 92-95 4runner swap on any 2wd truck is pretty simple if your not afraid to get dirty! Some people choose to swap out the radiator supports cause the one on the 4runner is a little different. The difference is where the headlights go...the hole where they mount is larger. So if you use choose not to swap core supports then youll have to trim that area out. Youll also have to drill some new mounting holes for the headlights & grill as well. Oh & youll also need to use 4runner bumper brackets as well & I had to use the pigtails off a 4runner to make the bumper lights work as well.

Ok...now if you decide to do a Tacoma swap then thats where the real work comes in!! Youll have to rework the fenders for the corner lights, core support to get the headlights & grill to fit & you may have to do some work to
the hood, but Im not 100% sure on that. Its a sic look, but alot of work lol!

Grab an issue of Mini-Truckin & look for the ad JBM. They are a company that sells front grills, bumper & misc stuff & they carry the part you want.

well damn if they don't. I appreciate it. I might have to invest in one because the ****ty aftermarket bumper I bought bent when I tightened the mounting brackets up and likw only 4 of the bolt holes lined up with the valence. Pretty crappy.

Ive got a 4runner core support hanging in my shop lol. If you want I can measure the headlight holes on it & let you know what they are. That way youll have an idea on how big to cut the 2wd core support holes. Everything else will just bolt up!

Ok as promised I measured the headlight holes on the 4runner support & this is what I got...
    Width-(left to right) 7 inches
    Height-(top to bottom) 5.5 inches
Now these measurements are pretty damn close & Like I said youll have to drill some new mouting holes for the lights. Hope this helps:)

I am getting a '90 4runner grill and bumper for my 87, in two weeks. Its won't require all the additional work that 92-95 requires, right? Grill looks like this[IMG]
    Bumper is also 90 model
