Just finished installing a set of 4runner seats and the center console. I didn't have the heater core so I had to make a bracket, which I thought I took more picture of, to mount the back section. The front section was mounted to a tab I welded to the shifter plate. The only thing I not that happy with is the shift boot is too small for the cutout since I don't have the 4wd selector. I was thinking about making a plate to fill in the empty space but that will have to wait... While I had the interior out I pressure washed the carpet and installed some quick roof. It's crazy how well the carpet looks after being degreased and then pressure washed. I originally purchased new carpet from Summit but it was crazy thin and started to fray before I even installed it so I sent it back. Glad I did because the factory carpet looks pretty good now.
That's some nice work you have done..did your truck come w/tilt wheel and that steering wheel? I like how your carpet turned out as well. I think I'm gonna try your idea on mine.
GREAT looking interior! Nice job again. Not too sure about the '89-'95 trucks, but in the RN#3,#4, & LN40 days, a deluxe model truck could have had a tilt wheel installed at the receiving port or from the the factory. Nowadays, options come in packages.
Did you have any gaps between the console and the floor of the truck in the area between your seats? Do you have any other pics of the brackets you made? What year 4Runner did you get your console out of? Sorry to hit you with so many questions at once but, I'm about to do this same install and when I pre-fit everything, the bottom of my console where the four bolt holes are, hangs below the lowest part of the console, which puts an ugly gap in that area between the seats.
I got everything out of a '92 4runner. Yes once everything was installed there was a gap between the bottom edge of the back console section and the floor. At first I was a little concerned but after I set the seats in you couldn't see it so I didn't worry about it. I thought I took a lot of pics but have no idea what happen to them. All I have is what's posted... sorry about that.
looks good. my 93 deluxe has a tilt steering wheel. really want to do this set up in my truck. bet those seats are a lit more comfortable than then stock 60/40 bench.
