i havnt got my lights in yet but when they do come in what kind of wiring modifications am i going to have to make to the originial plug ins to get it work
Nothing. 3 wires. I used a test light to find which was which. I think the low beam was the middle one on both the old and new plug. Then one side is 12V+ and the other is the brights. It switches ground if I remember correctly. Also if you need connectors for the new bulbs they are $5-$8 at most auto parts stores.
Got this from another site...Hope it helps.. Modifiedlife.com.. I found this site today when I was looking for some wiring diagrams for installing an aftermarket CD player in my roomate's BMW.. It has wiring diagrams for alarms, audio and some other resources. If it doesn't have an actual full wiring diagram that you can follow each and every wire from beginning to end, it will at least give you the color wiring for what they are, which can be pretty helpful. Just thought I would share it, can't promise it will have everything you need for every vehicle.. but still seems like a great resource. http://www.modifiedlife.com/
if you get the factory pigtails from a 4runner the colors will match up. that is how i did mine. try your local you pull it type junkyard you should be able to find some there.
ok so the factory hilux plug ins will work on the 4 runner lights or do i need to get the plug in for the 4 runner and pops i wish you had found that site when i was having major starting issues hahah
Gotta use plugs for the 4 runner. But they are just generic 9004 bulbs sockets. I bought mine at Napa.
ok well i dont have a switch for the high beams is there anyway i can cross the wire for the high beams over to the low beams so the high beams are on all the time ? and how much was those plug ins for the 4 runner
The plugs were like $6 a piece. You could just hook the high beam wire for the 4runner lights to the low beam power wire. Don't hook both up you'll burn up something probably.
ok so i got everything to put in on now so i went down in the yard this evening and i mocked everything up just to see and the grill was about 1/2 - 1 inch pushed out away from the hood and fenders is that how its supposed to be or is supposed to be flush i dont have anything to go by except the feature of it in minitruckin
thanks gotta wait for it to stop raining and the yota will have a new front end il post pics up next week sometime
does anyone know where i can find a how to on this for some reason the grill isnt lining up at all .....
describe how the grill is not not lining up. is it hood? fenders? headlights? when i did mine all of the 4runner grille clips lined up with the ones on my core support except for one
