    Hello all,

I am not really new here but I have never posted. A few things about me, I am 37 years old. I own a 1990 2wd short bed that is is static lowered 3F/4R. I am currently running a stock 1JZGTE w/R154 trans on 17" XXR. I was wondering if anyone has information on the details of swapping a 4Runner body onto a 2WD frame. My idea at the time is to run a coilover suspension and lose the torsion bars and 4-link the rear. I would appreciate any information available and I apologize in advance for not introducing myself prior to this post.

Welcome to TM! glad you started to post. I too have the jz swapped engine, Post up some pics, i'd like to see your truck. But as far as the 4runner body on the truck frame, the 2wd model 4runner body on the 2wd truck frame has been done. the only weird part was the body bolts towrd the rear. there was a write up online somewhere, ill try and find it.

About the middle of the doors back would need to be changed up a little. And possibly the wheelbase to match the rear wheel well.

Thanks for the warm greetings and the information. If you would like to check out pics of my truck as it sits in my garage, I have pics posted on www.myspace.com/kilroyskustoms. There is also pictures of other vehicles I have worked on. By the way, I am 37 years old and not 49 as my myspace page says.

Your myspace profile is set at private...

As for the swap the rear six body mounts need to be moved.

Easiest way is to cut off the mounts from the 4runner and re-welded them on to the truck frame...

My project is at a stand still for the moment. Engine/Tranny is pulled out of the 4runner.

I need to figure out how to hoist the body up and then get the truck bed and cab off.

I have a one car garage. :( sucks being toy poor...

Here are a couple of pictures of my truck. The first is after I got bored and tried my hand at polishing aluminum and the second is just a shot outside the garage. My myspace page should be public now if anyone cares to look still. If it isn't let me know, I will get it fixed so you can see some of the pictures from when I was swapping the motor.

i always though that the toyota 4runner used longer frame. long bed standard cab also used this kind of frame.
