    hey all

i recently found a toyota surf (basically a hilux wagon) and it has a G285 diff in it (4.3:1) and my hilux now has a G292 (4.1:1). first of all will the surf diff drop straight in and will i notice much of a difference in the ratio's as i do alot of highway driving (daily driver)?
will my speedo be badly affected or is there a way to adjust it?
if it does would it be possible to put my pinion and ring gear into the 4 pinion LSD?

i also found the cluster in it, but being for a 2l-t SSR will it be the same swap as a SR5 cluster?

    thanks

YES to all the questions except for the speedo correction and cluster swap.

All "G" series diffs will drop right in, your gas mileage will suffer due to the higher rpm to speed ratio. It will pull like a tow truck tho with that 4:30... If your looking for more high end speed for the highway I'd find a UTE with a 3:42 or 3:73 diff...

is it a easy job to swap the pinion and ring gear into the lsd center or is it one for the specialist?

i wish this wasnt my work car as i travel for about an hour to get to work at 110km/h, wish i was in the city cause the 4.3:1 would be great...

EDIT: just to clear things up, the surf is a 4runner

It's fairly easy but I'd leave it for the specialists....
