3vze engine problem??

    I having issues with my engine now, when i start it in the morning, it won't start the first try, then the second try it turns and dies and then third try it turns on fine, also my check engine turn on any suggestions
    p.s I also have had issue when i'm driving it, when i step on the gas pedal a bit it holds back until i push it bit further than it kicks in?:shrug::shrug::brickknock:

    cold start injector maybe? does your cel go off or is it still on. and does it run fine after the 3rd time of starting

    yea, third time it starts and ya the check engine still on and it runs fine after starting except for when you press on th gas pedal to accelerate it holds back until i step on it more... weird..

    air flow meter......... check it before you go out to start it. make sure the inner flap moves very freely. if it sticks at any point between closed and fully open, this will give you those issues. start there is my 0.02 :waytogo:

    You need to pull the trouble code.... If i had to take a guess it has to do with fuel pressure...

    except you won't have a code for fuel pressure.

    What happens if you keep cranking for several seconds the first time? I have the same problem with both of my toyotas, I blame the fact that the fuel pump does not run until the engine starts cranking enough to open the AFM flapper door. that means that unless your fuel system is sealed enough to maintain 30-40 psi overnight. if you run the fuel pump prior to attempting to start the truck (via the check connector) it'll start pretty much right away.
