So I blew a tire the other day, and I'm rolling on a half dead set of cambered tires and some costco tires from Curt.

After realizing that even tire companies are giving up on many sizes of 14s, I got on craigslist. I've always liked the '90-96 300zx rims. And I found a set for $200 with almost new tires. They are 225/50/16s, which I have run before so I know the tire will clear.

Rims are 16x7.5" + 45mm with a 60.1 or 66.1 center bore. I found the specs online. Seems like toyota trucks have a 68ish center bore, so hopefully a set of spacers will solve it. I used to run some +40s on a 7, so it should sit about the same as that did. Oh, and they are already painted gloss black.

If they check out, I will post up some photos of them mounted up. Even if I have to grind them out in the center, I'll make them fit :D

Commrad Charlie is gonna cream himself over this

Also had these on an 89 I used to own. Mine were the TT ones so 16X8's I believe in the rear. Used a 1/4" spacer to run them but only had 3 full turns on the lug nuts.:rolleyes2: Boring on the center is the way to go.

Well, when you see them you'd understand why I got em. That is if they look as good in person. I was the first to reply and he lives out in BFE so I guess thats why they're so cheap. Or he wanted a one day sale.

But they aren't the turbos, so the rears are the same rim. Rear should bolt right on, front will need a slight bit of boring out. Carbide bit, engine porting kit, and a drill is all that takes. I'm not worried about the slight bit of balance it might effect at the center of the rim. Because the center has such a low amount of leverage that it doesn't matter at all. I've done it to wheels before. I'm also going to adjust some of my camber out. Yes, out, because I can't afford to chew through tires so often.

I used 1/4" spacers to clear the center bore but I will open up the holes to take those back out. Rears fit without any mods. The front tires are taller than what I was running, by almost an inch. I used to have this same size on the Probe rims. They rubbed the top of the inners quite a bit, so I pulled into a parking lot and put in some small single bolt bump stops I had. It pretty much sits on them. I will probably have to finally cut and raise the inner fenders. I will probably do it with rivets and panel glue since I don't have a welder. If I have to do it, I'll make it so I can lay out the crossmember on 25" tall tires. For in case I bag it down the road. Which I would like to. Atleast the front.

Anyways, enjoy the pics. I'll keep playing around with how the front sits and camber and stuff til its where I like it.

Ah i liked those wheels on my homies ZX.

Look really good in those pics. Looks like u got less camber in the 2nd pic. Maybe its just the angle.

Anyway, looks badass. Love ur truck. ur truck made me love that bodystyle, They used to reminds me of chickens for some reason:shrug:

Camber is the same as it always has been with the front. But for some reason the 14s looked like they had more. Maybe the larger sidewall squished more on the insides. Here is a comparison between the steelies, the probes and the 300s.

I'm noticing that the probes looked lower than the 300s in those pictures. I think the offset is doing it. I dunno. I'm gonna have to cut out my inner fenders, raise them, then flip the balljoints. I'd like to run a stiffer coil that is taller than what I have at the moment. The balljoint flip will allow me to run a slightly taller coil. I dunno...RE-5s are soooo damn tempting. DAMN YOU TOYDATTO!!!

Those new wheels sure look good...thanks for the comparison shots. I'm watching and waiting to find a set that'll look good (to me) on mine.

What aboned house out in the bonies did you get those from :). J/K, had to do it. I like the probe wheels the best. Chrome plays well of bumper and mirrors. The painted Z wheels make the truck look dirty, like built up brake dust. Nice wheels though. Nicer than my steelies.

Im a OG so I agree with Garage on this one. The Probe wheels set the truck off with the bumper and stuff...it reminds me of what we ran back in 92-93 when those probes first came out....everyone was running out to get them on their trucks !! LOL However, I love the look of your steel wheels and hub caps ...it really makes your truck look like its skimming the ground !!!! Love it....:waytogo:

I liked the probes. They had a nice 90s era look to them. The steelies ended up getting painted bronze. I liked that. The new wheels handle well and look pretty cool. They were just bomb canned black by the guy I got them from. And they are all dirty. So that could be it.

Not digging the 300's, doesn't flow well with the flat panels...

Steelies will look better with chrome trim rings... lmk I have brand new sets in the box! :waytogo:

Either way you go doesn't matter, you got a solid motor that can shred tires!
