    hey guys, quick question...

does a 4wd valance bolt up to a 2wd bumper?

reason why i ask is cuz i found a mint 2wd bumper for sale cheap, i like the look of it, and i like the look of the 4wd valance better, i already have 4wd fenders, but i dont have my truck on the road or even in walking distance to cheack measurements and blah blah blah...
idealy i want the 95 style 4runner bumper, to go with the rest of the 4runner front end but in a pinch i'll go with something else

    thanks in advance!

Wouldn't it look strange with the 2WD bumper and the 4WD fenders? Since they stick out further I thought the wider 4WD bumper would help to match to the 4WD fenders better?

I made it work. Its no bolt up application but it can be done with some drilling, grinding, bending, and some hammering. the valance is about 1-2 inches wider then the 2wd bumper.

So yes it can be done but your better off getting a 4wd bumper to go with it if you dont have fabrication skills.

I also have the 4x4 fenders, along with the 4x4 bumper, but im having trouble mounting them onto my 2 wheel drive bumper bracket, do i need to get me a set of 4x4 brackets to hold up the bumper properly?

I've heard people making the 2wd brackets work, but I just got 4wd brackets, its easier.

i had no problem using my 2wd brackets that bolt to rail on the 4wd bumper.
Only prob is, the 4wd is longer so the the side mounts wont line up, neither will the bottom bolts, as the bar is deeper. But i just bolted up the four on the rails. Its not going anywhere. I didnt bother with the other mounts.
Also, you will find that the 4wd guards bolt behind the front bar on the side of the guard wont reach the chassis.
And that 2wd inner guard/guard liner is to small for 4wd guards, i just removed one or two screws on inner section so i could pull the liner out towards the guard and cable tied it to guards. Haha.

Yep the 4wd bumpers are wider, my front end looked odd with just 4wd guards until i bought 4wd bumpers. Haha.. Just buy a chrome 4x4 bumper. I did, and eveey compliments it. :D
