Hey guys im new on here, i got my lil red pickup a few weeks back just to drive, but it handles so good i fell in love with it!! i want to turn it into a drift truck and i have some ideas! ive seen a few online but im going to go in a lil diff direction as far as building a drift machine.

im looking to swap a 2rz or 3rz into my 91 pickup, im wanting to boost it with an Eaton M90, any mods i should do to the engine befor the swap and will it be a fairly easy swap? if any one can give me a write up of what ill need for the sawp thated be sweet and any tips would be nice!! i have very specific plans for the truck but some power is step one!!

also im interested in doing a IRS swap out of a MKIII supra, ive seen a few post on it but none with real specifics or images or posted in the past 6 years, any leads on this would be appreciated to :headbang:

Even though it's for 4x4's, a lot of the basic info will be the exact same.

If you want a drifter I would turbo it. Your horsepower potential is much higher and during drifting you get a lot of high RPM's, which is very kind to Turbo's. The linear power of the S/C is great, but sadly on Toyota engines there's only so many mods you can do so it's very limited. Whereas a turbo you can always slap a bigger one on :waytogo:.

I think the only real issue you need to worry about is the oil pan since you have no front diff to clear, other than that it should slide right in?

Take what you read on Marlincrawler and also do your own research. They focus on 4x4 so some info is irrelevant to most of us

I agree with the posts above. Marlin crawler has a ton of info.

    BUT its 4x4.

I'm interested in this swap 2wd.

The main issue I see coming up with this swap would be oil pan related. Everything else is well documented and can carry over from the 4x4 guys at Marlin.

2wd or 4wd the info is all relevant as far as mounts, oil pan clearance, wiring, bellhousing etc.

The frame side mounts are the same in 2wd or 4wd.
Will a front sump oil pan work in a 79-95 2wd? Nope, gotta get a rear sump just like the 4wd guys do. Some minor massaging may be needed for steering clearance but nonetheless it'll work.
Wiring is all the same as far as the engine goes.
The w59 rz series bellhousing will bolt up to any w or g series 2wd trans so that's a moot point too.

I've been looking hard at doing a 3sge altezza swap in my 89 but the pass key crap has me looking at a turbo 2rz instead.
