So I have a friend that has a 2az-fe including the harness, and computer. I believe it needs a head gasket, a head stud, and a thermostat. So the guys i hang out with call it the new '22r' i havent had a whole lot of opporunity to look and compare it with my own, but i have a w50 sitting to go in my truck.

I'm gonna take the bell housing to see if it can bolt up, because he says it should.

I'm sure you guys can take the ideas from there. Let me hear what you think!

Havent heard of it until now, but reading about it sounds like it would be a cool swap, especially if it fits the w50 trans you have already going in, how much is he asking for the complete set up? and what made him pull it out?

so basically its a game of telephone. A friend of mine, has a friend, who owns the motor. Friend 2 told friend 1, the owner said the tempurature gauge didnt work, so it blew head gaskets, after about the 3rd or 4rth gasket, the guy got sick and tired of replacing it, and sold the motor, including harness and ECU. My guess is maybe a thermostat, or maybe even a bad fan relay could cause it to over heat and lose a head gasket. Aside from that issue, it has 1 broken head stud.

Supposudly friend 2 bought all of it for $20... I have yet to talk to him directly, and here exactly what he has to say, but i figure even if i get the motor and everything for $200, i could still flip it if it wont work, and sell it to somebody local for there new car.
