Hello all been away for awhile, we'll my beloved 81 shop truck is in need of some love. The head gasket let got last week and have been have a hard time with carbs cause of the ethonal( corn) fuel. We'll one of my customers has given up on his 93 (frames gone i've plated to many times). Here's my plan I'm putting the 22re and 5 speed in place of the 22r/auto. I already figures out the harness for the 22re, had in running on the floor. Here's my problem, I need to know if anybody has swapped out the fuel tank for a later model tank. My 81 is a long bed and the tanks are bigger than the short beds right? I would love to use a newer tank with the fuel pump already in the tank. Another problem is up here in New hampshire unrotted toyota tanks are near impossible to find. My second thought was just a electric fuel pump on the frame rail. Sorry for the long post!!!!!!!!! Bob
but to answer your question, an in-tank pump would be your best bet to supply fuel for the fuel injection. if your tank is made of steel, perhaps you could put a rear sump kit with an external fuel pump instead.....????
