I have a 92 2wd pickup. I just picked up a 4wd motor. Can I leave the 4wd oilpan on the motor? without any problems in the pickup?

    Thanks

I don't believe it will clear, but thats just going on what I have read. No "real world" experience on it. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Clear as in clear what? Ive done alot of online research and reading. I see the 2wd wont work in a 4wd because of the casing. But very little info vise versa. I do not have the 2wd pan no more so this is why I am asking.

I did take some halfass measurements and they put the pan in the opening so to me looks like it will fit. Guess I will find out tomorrow.

Not sure what you mean by the casing but it will work.

    oil pan

Sorry Keith i missed that part but pretty sure the 4x oil pan will hit the cross member and centerlink. It's deeper than the 2x.

When you have the engine just about in the engine bay where it should be, just release the lift arm on the engine lift really fast a couple of times. The engine will drop down onto the cross member and form a custom-to-the-truck indention. Problem solved! :waytogo:

Ok, seriously, I know that the clearance it off, but how far is it off and where exactly is the oil pickup in the pan? Could the pan he has be "gently massaged" with a brass hammer to create the clearance and thus save him having to buy another pan?
    Just a thought.

Yes you can beat the front of the 4x pan up flat to clear the steering.
