I am trying to time my little stock 87 work truck. It's your basic carb'd 22R.

The setting I need to get to is 0 degrees with the distributor vacuum lines pulled.

The distributor bottoms out at about 5 degrees, I cant bring it down any lower.

I am just not a motor guy, I'm guessing there is something on the carb I need to adjust, I'm just not sure what?

take the distributor all the way out, and do it again, you might be off a tooth

I pulled and re-indexed the distributor about 10 times, it either runs or it doesn't, and when it does run the timing just will not come down.

Truck runs like a champ, smog sucks!
