long story short someone dumped this truck on a buddys land sat there over winter about a year they called the cops reported it stolen.. called the owner said he blew the clutch never came and got it. my buddy didnt want it so they gave it to me... so i jumped in it have to use a screwdriver turned key and it fired right up but ran kinda bad used some intake medic to clean it up a bit... now it runs very well when cold but as soon as it warms up you have to play with the pedal to keep it running and if you hold the pedal to a spesific rpm it flutters up and down as soon as the pedal is let off it dies... as your driving it you can feel that flutter... please help. i want to turn this into a mud/hunting truck box was all rotted so i took it off yesterday i want to build a deck the truck is a 4x4 i just put 35" tires on the back want a lift to put 35" on the front, ordered a clutch yesterday that will be going in this week thanks for any help you guys have

Free ain't to bad start with the basic
Carb < more than likely nasty and gummed up from sitting < rebuild or replace clean out
Plugs cap wires rotor drain tank and replace fuel filter
Check timing to be sure. over all a in depth tune up can be done for very low price And will help get the truck back to running like a 22r

what would be the range of mods i could do with that carb? (im 100% new with toyotas... spend most my time with chev trucks and honda/acura cars) with the manual choke its about 275 with electric its 260

That carb will work fine with all your basic bolt ons very easy to tune and is far superior to the oem carb in multiple ways .

i doubt im going to go any insane powerhouse... no turbo... probably a header, that carb, exhaust and maybe a cam and minor head work... may just keep it simple with a fresh oem rebuild maybe bump up compression, the carb, header and exhaust. or just the carb run it the rest of this year and build it over the summer depending on how the frame work goes posted the pics in the introduction.... ill hold my breath on the turbo... i do have a turbo off a first gen mitsu eclipse he he.
