I did not get around to picking up a service manual, so I don't know what this piece is. I will be switching to a Weber so is this something that can be deleted. And how do I delete it? Do I just make some block off plates and throw the bit@h in the scrap pile ? Please help me identify it, and it's function.
I also won't be running a heater core, since mine was all fubed up, and it usually is not necessary in Vegas since it will be a warm weather, weekend kind of truck. I got the Civic w/ a kick a$$ A/C, for the hotter than hell kind of days. So what do I do again w/ the coolant tubes on the side of the engine. Do I just run block off plates and add them to the scrap pile also?
The picture in your first post is of the EGR valve (bottom metal one), and the EGR Vacuum Modulator (plastic one up top). It can be deleted and blocked off. The stock carb has 2 vacuum connections that need to be capped, but your going to weber. there is a BVSV on the intake that is also connected to this system which isnt used anymore. If i can locate my scanner Ill copy the EGR diagram from the FSM. As for your heater core I would find another one, junkyard or whatever. It's good to have "just in case" .
Thank you for the pic. So that is going in the scrap bin. As for the heater, I drove the truck back and forth to work this winter w/ no heater, so screw it. I am on a budget, so money spent on a heater core can be better spent else where. Besides I am more concerned w/ my cooling system. The crap that poured out the rad and the 2 hoses was just plain nasty. I don't think it had any coolant at all. Just nasty rusty water.
