Well I just bought a bunch of late 22r stuff from a guy at work and it got me thinking! Should I build a 22r(possibly even RE) for my truck or should I just put my built 20r in it? I really want to build both and put one in something else like a 70's corolla, but I should sell by 20r to fund the 22r if I go that way.. I pretty much hit the jackpot on with my purchase! I got 2 blocks(one is .040" over) one head, 2 oil pans(ones sandblasted already) a sandblasted front cover and oil/water pump, a reground crank, a set of pistons and rods, 2 intakes, one stock carb, and a bunch of other stuff for $100! it's nice to work with a bunch of guys who own toyotas But really, I need to figure out what motor to build with the intention to put in my truck. My dad liked the idea of building a 22re setup and buying something to put it in, that way I can gather all the parts and not worry about the time it will take to swap it all and set it up.
I say 20r your truck. Re would need a new fuel system for the higher pressure and return line. That's the biggest obstacle. They all bolt to your frame the same. I would do up something with all the new parts. Maybe even just pass it along to fund your own project. But you got a good deal for sure.
I'm building it no matter what.. Either to use or sell.. But I'd build it up more if I'm going to use it.
