hey. I own a 1993 toyota pickup dually. It has a 3.0 v6 engine. I got it from my dad, which he retired it from his business. now, I'm trying to restore it, taking the box bed off and put a dually bed. The truck was involve in a accident and I have started to take off the fenders and next I am taking off the box bed. I NEED help on how to get or to make a custom bed for my ride. any ideas????
What is the biggest engine I can install in this pickup??

I have no clue on the bed but as far as the engine goes I'm either doing a 7mgte from a supra turbo or a 1uz-fe from a lexus SC400. The 7m is a I6 turbo that can cheaply be built to a reliable 500hp. The 1uz is an all aluminum V8 that is a little bit more exspensive to initial get and build up hp but has the trade off of excellent mileage, V8, and light weight. My choice is the 1uz-fe but I might end up doing a 7mgte swap since it is a little easier and cheaper. Both engines will fit quite easy and look like a factory option (lot of work though). Check out supracharged.com or ask me.

The 4WD fenders are a bolt on... more or less...

The front of the fender mounts a little differently
everyone fails to mention the details of the 4wd fender swap

There is a triangle shaped bracket that supports the front corner of the fender, on a 2wd it is smaller due to the lack of fender flare.
You would need to get this bracket from a 4wd for the front corner, or make up some sort of spacer with a longer bolt... (I used the brackets from a 4wd for mine)
Also the corner light has a different shape, the back edge sweeps up not down like a 2wd corner light and they are not interchangable.
You will need different corner lights

As for the bumper you should check out this thread:
    http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257&highlight=bumper
There are many different choices in not only the bumper but the grilles/headlights.

By the way I agree that 4wd fenders would look great and I would love to see that standard truck bed on that long frame and the bed streched to fit

Have you thought about swapping to regular 2wd front spindles and rear axle?
that would get you away from those 6lug rims and the dually rear
you could use any rim then...
If not, with all the big truck rims out there now you should still be able to find big rims with the right offset that fit a 6lug

Is the 6 lug pattern 6on5.5 like the 4wd trucks?

Does anybody know if the spindles from a regular 2wd will bolt up in place of the ones on a 1ton 2wd?

Good luck dude! Nice project! I will love to see what you do with it, makes me want to get a old box truck... LOL!

don't drop the dually it's sweet and rare. As for your frontend I like the 2wd frontend better.

the dually is cool I agree...
But I am pretty sure it is the wheels that make it a dually
the axle is just a 6 lug axle with normal hubs but I may be wrong...
either way he could still do a dually rear after swapping to a 5 lug axle...(I would use a ford axle with disc brakes if your gunna swap it)
and just get dually rims to fit a five lug

as for the 2wd fenders I actually like them too, but unlike in 84-88 trucks you can't get a bed to match without flares... I don't care for the mismatched look...

Many a time I have considered 2wd front fenders and hacking a beds flares off to match... would make a real smooth look!

it not really on my plans dropping a rare truck. what I really want is to find some rims for it. maybe, if I can find wheel adapters (6 to 8 lug), I would make the truck look nice. I being looking around and no luck. could ya give some ideas where I could find some rims or wheel adapters for my 1993 yota pickup??
