In the process of installing my weber 32/36.

Noticed my egr was clogged so I decided to take off the intake manifold and replace it's gaskets while I wait for parts.

I changed the bottom half gasket and took out the crud. I decided to put a thin layer of ultra black gasket maker on top of the replacement gasket.

Q: Does my car come with a thermostat? When I opened up the water neck there was none.

It's should. Depending on your geographic location/driving style, running without a thermostat causes coolant levels to warm up slower/stay too low. In other cases the coolant can also not have enough time to cool down if the flow is not regulated and doesn't spend enough time in the radiator. I would add the ~$15 part.

In my case it took forever to warm up.

7.50$ thermostat at napa, but it did not come with a seal. So i ordered the c channel o-ring from yotashop.

When I placed the thermostat in the thermostat housing. There was a lot of play side to side. I was thinking about just using waterpump/thermostat housing sealant around the sides.

Make sure you have the right one.. but some play is ok. As long as there are no leaks and it opens at the right temp.. you should be good.
