i cant figure out how to get rid of these points.

i know the pertronix 1641 kit does not fit i have one and there is no way.

    its a 8-RC engine

its a Nippon denso distributor with single points and duel port vacuum advance,i doubt that matters.

i would buy a whole nother distributor if another engne models would work...if i could get a kit for it.

maybe some car with a 18r engine someone makes a kit for any brand.

i like how the drop in kit keeps the engine bay stock looking. I dont want to patch together parts from a later toyota .i dont want boxes and wires and $#it on the fender well.i like the clean simple factory engine compartment

im not 100% positive there is a swap out for the 18R points...the 20R is easy, but for some reason when i had my 18R i remember not being able to find anything. Thats half the reason i put the 22r in my 73

    .

i have been doing my homework and i read that there is a large and small can 18r distributor ,and that a 8r and 18r are just about the same thing ,,some piston and head changes between various R's RB's C's and what have you.but the distributor should fit into my 8RC.i am thinking maybe there is room in the large can one to fit a kit.

I just need figure out what to get.

i manged to hack up a spare 8RC distributor to fit a pertronix pickup into it,by drilling and taping the points plate ,filing and gutting it ,drilling and taping, and shaved the bottom of the rotor of to make room for the magnet but it ran like $#it.

there is a white dot on the face of the pickup down low,if that supposed to signify the center of it. then i have to raise it with some washers.and maybe it will work?

all of that was a pain in the @$$ so i put the points back in for now.

i would like to buy something.
