Does anyone know of a drop spindle for the 1979-1983 pickups. If not, could I make a 1984-1994 spindle work? I need Help.
No, and unfortunately, No. I have heard though (haven't done it), that you can take Cando's A-arm kit for the 90-94's and fab it to the earlier pickup. I can't verify this claim either way, I just looked. Not even sure where I might have heard it. Sorry. Maybe I shouldn't even have posted this....
84-95 spindles can be made to work, if you get EVERYTHING off that truck suspension wise. You need everythign but the upper balljoint. You need the lower balljoint, and you need to modify the lower arm to fit them correctly. You need the newer hubs/bearings, rotors, calipers and brake lines to swap it over. No one makes a spindle for the 79-83 truck.
Twisted Minis-- that's great information-- do you know if the same swap would work on my 74 Hilux? I'd love to get rid of the front drum brakes and get the ability to lower it at the same time (without cutting the springs)... THANKS.
