Howsit sorry I didn't get back to you sooner I have been away from this site for a while. What year is your truck? Is it carb or EFI?first I would say that a pretty easy and inexpensive way to get more power into your truck would be a mild cam.If your truck is EFI your are limited as to what size cam you can run(something in the 280 lift range) because it can disrupt your computers setting. If your truck has a carb you can use a bigger cam.I use a 292 on my 87 but I also had to upgrade to dual valve spring to prevent my valves from hitting my pistons. The single stock springs cant handle the 292.Another upgrade that is a little more complicated would be a lighter flywheel. You would either need to pull out the motor or drop your trans to install that.Basically any extra strain on the motor like the stock fan and AC will take power away from your motor. If you can eliminate these thing by using an electric cooling fan and remove your AC parts it will help.Shoots check me if you need help.
