    I know exactly what you are talking about. I just bought new bushings and hardware from the toyota dealer so I can install a new core support . The 4 rubber bushings ran about $60 with my shop discount.

    Well they don't really contibute to the ride comfort. The cab bushings do somewhat. I would question the purpose of them being there. Maybe electrical grounding or something? The bolts for them go through the core support. So they have to be a certain size. Unless you want to drill out the core support but I don't believe there is much choice even with drilling. Maybe you could pull them off a junker truck? If you have like a pick and pull it would be good to just bring a prybar and wrenches and pull them out. Any rubber bushing in similar size would probably do. It just depends on what you can find to determine what you must modify to make it work. The frame mounts are like a cup shape and they sit in there. There are also sleeves inside between the bolt and rubber. And some large washers.

    do you have a problem with your current bushings? or are you just looking for a upgrade?

    I went with new factory bushings for a few reasons;

    Rubber doesn't exactly get better with age. Basically any bushings you find in a yard are going to be 15- 20 years old, flat and hard. My factory bushings and the bushings on my doner 4runner front clip were junk.

    the only urethane bushings I could find were for 4x4, although they look identical I didn't really want to be the guinea pig. Urethane is also kind of a bitch. The extra flexibility of the rubber was extremely helpful lining up new parts.

    the 2wd and 4x4 cab bushings are exactly the same. i used a 4x4 kit on my truck with no problems.
