Hello! I have a 1980 short bed 4x4--love it! Hope the 4x4s are liked around here as well as the 2wd pickups. I like 'em all myself. I am interested in learning more about the early gen. Hiluxes. Definitely, digging everything from '69 to '72, and I am in the market for such a project.

She's got an 1986+ rear axle.

Got an L52HD installed at Marlin Crawler in Fresno . There were no problems with centering the tranny shifter for the L52 and spinning the shifter boot to keep the old L43 passenger side shifter hole covered ;).

I know a lot of guys on here are purists, but I upgraded to an 80 Series Land Cruiser master cyl. and I got a new seat, too:

Thanks for the warm welcome. More specifically, I'm in the Bay Area.

Next upgrades will be Longfield 30 splines, 5.29s and ARBs with a high pinion in the front and a regular 4cyl. diff in the rear.

    With 33s, a 20R, and a 5th gear, I don't think 5.29s will be too much.

I also need to get the 81 to 85 SA hubs for a future V6 caliper and FJ60 rotor upgrade. This is all gonna move pretty slowly.

Sorry. Last name isn't Balayan; screen name comes from old HS nickname, which I never understood. :)
