Does anyone know what type of engine this is? I know it's NOT a Toyota, but I figured this would be the place to ask. It's a four cylander that I saved from the smelter. I guy was hauling it to some recycler. and I got to it before the furnance. It still has compression! But what vehicle and manufacturer did it come from??
i 2nd on the jeep flathead, seen one in a old willy's dude said it was the same jeep used after ww2? but i dont know cause i was stoned mostly during high school........
Thanks for all the replies. I've never heard the Wily's Jeep as a possibility. Some said it's a 1950's Nash Metropilitian engine. Is it a Nash?
ProjectDragTruck - Thanks for the photo of you 1951. Looks similar, but different... I'll take some photos of the motor mounts for comparision. That might add some insight.
it's not my '51, it came from Google images. I know 3 people who have owned willys jeeps and I remembered what the engines looked like ( kinda like half of ford flat head. lol!) so I googled it. I agree with Cin, use the block as a table stand. Use the piston and rods (with out the main caps) as a small shelf stand. Maybe use the intake and exhaust manifolds as bookends, to keep all your car/truck books and mags wrangled up!
