You are right , I forgot about headlights like that. I don't think anyone still does that today, even kia's come with projectors now.

 

if you have a hid kit that came with some BS "diamond cut" ebay lights, its the beam pattern.

hid's in hella H4 housings work much better with a focused lense, its all about the beam pattern. you do need the lil shield for the bulb tho, there's no hi/low beam on a hid, requires another bulb or motorized shields.
