tranny info w8616??

    just scored a spare tranny....only numbers i can find are w8616...does this sound familiar?? lookin to replace my my l43..and not sure what i have:shrug:... thanks in advance for any info

    Post some pics of it.... Other than the option plate on the body i don't recall knowing based on numbers on the tranny itself... Or if you know what year/model it came from, that will help too...

    if it came from a 77 its prolly a W50/55


    either way, its good, should bolt right up.


    might need a different driveline.

    I don't think that is either a W50 or 55

    Looking at the gear shifter, it looks longer than a small truck. More so for a large truck, even a box truck

    That looks a lot like the L43 4 speed I have in my 78 pickup...
