So I bought this truck a while back, got it running and redid the front brakes. Now I have to redo the rear brakes and swap in a new clutch. All the parts have been ordered and arrived, now just need the motivation to install.

To get the juices flowin I thought i would start a build thread.

Short and sweet pic of the truck the day it came home.

Pretty clean interior except that cracked dash pad.

Oh I also got a new door latch and a replacement marker.

Now just have to brave the cold and put in work.

HAHA. That's my problem. That truck in the background is my 1942 Chevy. Its going to be a rat rod one day. Have all the parts to throw it together just not enough time in the day. lol.

Not sure if you would consider a 18RC fast, but the heads are cast iron so they are definitely heavy.

Well I am going to work on the Hilux!! I have Thursday & Friday off work for Thanksgiving and my family is in Phoenix so I will be swapping the clutch & the rear brakes. I am really looking forward to gettin the truck on the road but not looking forward to workin on it in the cold. I have a shop to use that has a 4 post lift so it makes work a snap, but the down side is the no heat in the shop & I hate being cold. So hopefully the end of this week I will have post of me out cruising in the 'Lux. Wish me luck.

Well I got out to the shop and pulled the trans out. It was COLD out there!!! Mid 30's all day. Looks like the flywheel needs to be resurfaced so I couldnt go any further. Flywheel will be done hopefully this week and I will be taking the truck to my house to put it in the house garage so its warmer and I can get more work done.

Have not updated in a bit so quickly, I got the brakes all done front and rear, then replaced the clutch. Now the truck is back running and drivin. Drove it around a few times and now its sitting again as I got to buy a new set of tires or find some aftermarket wheels I like.

Here is a pic of it out and about.

Well now that it back on the road running and driving I have decided to sell it or trade it and just keep my rusty one to fully customize. Check out the listing in the vehicles for sale.

    That right. TWO!!!

    I want only one tho.

Someone want to buy or got something to trade???

Top choices of trades: Toyota Stout, VW Bug, 1960-72 Chevrolet or GMC 2wd truck, 1949-54 Chevrolet Car or a 1920's-30's Roadster project but I am open to other trades.

Have not been on here in a while.

So.....after having it for sale for a while and no one coming thru to buy it, I am keeping it!!

I sold my daily driver, so I started drivin the Hilux and I am loving it. I am workin on another daily driver, a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door sedan, so the Hilux has not been getting much love as my focus has been on the '62. Well that was untill this last Saturday. I spent the day working on the suspension and this is its current state. Now I am getting the urge to do body work and paint but thats gotta wait till the Bel Air is rockin the streets.
