update: so i got the engine almost put back together, got the head and rocker arm assembly bolted up, also got my intake manifold and carburater on, all thats left is exhaust manifold, a/c pump, alternator, put the pulleys and fan on, radiator, belts and hoses and bolt the oil pan back on and hopefully she'll crank up. i was goin to buy a bed yesterday but the only 2 yotas the salvage yard has were short beds, so i just got a hood(only has one small dent in it that i can fix) and some dash pieces. i had borrows mt grandpas truck and while i had it i thot ide compare the 2, also found out somethin cool i can do :) hehehe...........

update: my computer doesnt work anymore and i work 60-75hours a week which why i havnt been on but anyways for the update. i tried starting the truck a few weeks ago and it wouldnt crank, found a few small problems and fixed them but still wouldnt start because of bigger issues, timing was off again, compression was really low on cyl 1, 2 and 4. so instead of paying someone to rebuild the engine and hoping they did a good job, im going to buy a brand new motor from LC Engineering. the street performer motor. its not really considered a high performance motor but it does put out 125hp and with my weber and the header im buying it will put out about 145 which is fine caue im not really into going fast anyways. im also cleaning the engine bay up and gettin rid of all the emissions crap. Now for the fun stuff, while engine is out, im Z'ing the front and body dropping to lay flat rocker. i got the engine torn down to just the block today and all i need is a cherry picker and i can start he other stuff..wish me luck and if anyone has any tips on Z'ing the front end, ide appreiate it

Wow, that's a big step - body dropping. Should look awesome when that's done. Looks great right now, btw. Love the idea of going with old school wheels and white walls. :)
