Ok, ill start the ball here and cast a vote for lownloud He would make a great mod, and would be nice to have someone here to complain to...lol
Can I pick me ? Thanks for the nods guys, it would be my pleasure to help the site out and all the members with their questions & complaints. . . Who else wants to chime in?
Well you already know that I gave you a nod awhile back John. I'm always here and willing to lend a helping had to all who need it. What ever needs to be done, I'll be willing to step in!!
im honored but alas, my presence here will lessen come monday. im getting a new job with a lot less downtime sitting in front of a comp with nothing to do. so ill only be able to check in after work, if then. i vote for lownloud as well, a mod has to: A. be here more then most B. be knowledgeable C. a die hard fanatic D. not always have to reply to every thread (not saying that you do low, just some mods on other sites will reply to threads just to say that they have no idea. pet peeve of mine) so i think he's more then qualified. but it should also be noted that mods are kinda like referee's, they just moderate the post's. actuall reorganization of the forum needs to be done by a admin who knows how to program a forum/site. I still think we need a active mod, but we also need a admin to make some changes.
Hate to be that guy, but while all of the before mention candidates are more than qualified; Alas, I don't think anyone actually actively monitors this forum. I feel as though we are in an old Star Trek episode and our starship is adrift in space with no contact to the outside. We keep hailing the Federation, but no one is listening. If they are, they aren't responding.
I will agree with most of it, except there's no one here actively monitoring the forum. I'm on here all the time, you can find me on here checking on things anywhere between 7:30am - 12 midnight east cost time. I have skills in doing web sites and forums, also alot of help from those who have bigger sites. We are getting to the point here, where we need to be updated per say. We all get along and that's the best part, the reason we haven't had a need for a "MOD", but like all things, that could change. I may not know everything, but if you need something, and don't have the time to figure it out, I'm here to help. We all fall back on each other for help, that's what's this forum is all about. Being in our own world, we've created a little nitch that if you don't own or operate one of the trucks, you can become lost. That's why we need to stick together, whether it's here, or on another site, we need each other....like it or not. As I've stated previously, I'm here to do what ever is necessary to keep this going. I know some think that I don't know alot, well guess what......it's true, but I'm also smart enough to admit it. "He who knows all, is the one who is the fool."
@patriotpop Very well said man! I moderate on several forums, and know what is takes..But I cant dedicate the time to anymore. You and lownloud are great, here a lot, and helpful as hell A more active admin would be nice to But i think the more popular we get, the more he will be..lol
Patriotpop, that's not what I mean. I am also on here everyday. What I mean is that since the Adbot was introduced, there has been little if any activity from an actual moderator, and before that, the last thing I can remember was the blip up at the top of the home page about how the site "was going to be down for the evening" in December or January. We have no mods, and I'm not sure anyone is watching to see that we care. Let me restate that. We have no official mods that actively monitor us, and drive a Toyota mini.
I think it's great that there are no mods needed. That means everyone on here is here because they have a love for Toyota Mini's and they want to help each other. The key board comando's/na-sayers have been the reason I have stayed off forums for years. How ever it would be nice to have a moderator or administration to ask questions. I would like to post specials for the guys members that might be interested. But I don't want to abuse this site and I'm not sure who to ask about it. If someone can answer those questions feel free to e-mail me direct [email protected]
Here you go Steve.. His name is Jeff, follow this link so you can PM him... http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=65 He's at post 67.
I guess there's a good and bad to this issue. the good has already been mentioned, that the site/people on it don't really need moderating. the bad is there's no one visable for assistance. When I had my 84, I was on here all the time. now that it's gone I don't really have a need to be on here. I helped Jeff test the site before it became public. I'll mention to him that he needs to get on here more often and possibly get some new moderators.
Awesome, I just saw a few of Jeff's posts. It's cool that he spent to the time to make a site like this even though he doesn't sport a mini himself. Sorry Jeff, I didn't know you were still out there.
you guys can also send me a pm and I'll try to login on a regular basis, then I can forward the info to Jeff if he doesn't see it first.
without further . . . Congrats SMCTOY Well, being a member of yotascene also, I just wanna jump in this whole moderator thread and holla out to SMCTOY for making moderator over @ yotascene.com. I sure hope Jeff sends us in the right direction soon. I love his plans and look forward to this site getting bigger and bigger everyday! So I hope we get some new mods soon. Im still here waiting on my chance here ( if it comes ) and so wanted to conratulate SMCTOY " Way to go man "!
