I have a base truck with no air conditioning or power steering. The front rotors always warp. Can I put, say, V6 front rotors, calipers, & pads?
You might want to look into using 1 ton brakes. Like swapping rotors and calipers. But I dont know if you have to swap hubs too. IDK.. But if your going to go thru the hassle, do what I did. LS400 rotors and calipers on my truck spindles....
No, it's a kick-around/ Saturday work truck. I got it with 165,000 miles. The rotors were warped and I replaced the rotors and pads then. I drove it normally; once in a blue moon with a load for the dump. There are 180,000 miles on it now and the rotors are warped. When I replaced them initially, the mechanic said that the brake design was poor. Normally the pads are a rectangular sweep. These are diamond shaped. This design provides less surface area to handle the heat build-up load. I babied the brakes but noticed the pulsing (warped rotors) came back. It sounds like 1 ton calipers and pads are the way to go. Straight bolt-ons.
bump ...bump... so what part did you need for the ls 400 setup??? any help out there ? Im going with 350z rear brakes so I NEED TO upgrade the fronts ... and I DO NOT want to change from 5 lug... any help?
All factory Toyota parts except 5 grade 8 bolts/washers. Used the LS400 caliper bracket. One bolt hole lines up, the other one needs to be drilled and tapped. Do a search on it bud. Ive gone into detail before and I dont remember where.
