So I've got this 1980 4x4, I bought it from my uncle who used it as his backup car for a good 15 years or so. It's been sitting around for a loooong time. I bought it 3 years ago as a daily driver, parked it for two years, and now I'm reviving it as my daily driver. I'm not gonna modify it, customize, trick it, or anything like that. I just wanna keep it running. I was hoping I'd be able to get some input on mechanical things that aren't covered in the manual. So, I ask again; have I come to the right place?
Welcome to the site man. Got any pictures. The guys here are all picture whores and got a **** load of knowledge.
i've only been on here for a week or so, and have gotten alot of good advise and help. this forum rocks! good to see another 4x4 as well.
Welcome. Ask away, even tho this is a 2wd forum, there is very little we couldnt help you with. You gotta post pics of your truck, kinda an unspoken rule...\
Welcome to TM! You've come to the right place! And this is not just a 2wd forum, we just don't have alot of members with 4wd trucks.
Welcome to TM buddy, so where is the pics at? Just ask away and it will be answered by the best toyota experts around. Glad to have ya
Okay, got some pics here. It was parked in CA for many years, which is why the body is great and the interior is trash. Apart from that front bumper, the body is mint. There's a couple places in the paint where I can see some bubbling, but nothing major yet. am I the only one that has to argue about this with people? I got called a sellout when I sold my 2wd and bought my 4x4 cause "its not a mini". Its a damn toyota, how is it NOT a mini? Sure as hell isnt a full size so WTF? lol just because my truck goes up instead of down?
oh nobody here, a rather large car club I was in for a few years, which was funny since 4x4s are allowed in the bylaws Ive said F the clubs anymore, too much drama so I just hang with whoever, seems to be more and more people around here doing the same
oh wow, yes a 4x4 hilux is still a mini lol. to me the definition of a mini is this, take s10s for example. they are the smaller version of silverados. same goes for toyotas
