the head is a result of a dropped valve. if youre gonna buy a rebuilt head, spend money and get a good one. as for that red truck, it was ok after i traded the chrome front clip. kind of a dog though if you ask me
that is why i just pickup up the LC street head. Not cheap but should be problem free for a long time.
hey 73, since that head is trashed anyways, before you throw it out, would you please yank off that little shiney plate that blocks off where the mechanical fuel pump goes ??? and send it my way ?!?! thanks
Bull **** dont let him tell you guys his trucks fast, hes still mad since i bet him off the line and he could only see my tail lights
already gave the head to lowest93. im sure he would give it to you though and lowest93 is gonna get spanked as soon as i get a new clutch
PICS!!! motor out of the 94 motor out of the 84 motor from the 84 in the 94 everything hooked up and valve cover repainted Soon to be put on: H4 housings. i have the 6000K hi/low HID kit too Cherrybomb 2 1/4" chambered muffler Whats holding me up? well besides money, i gotta swap out the sub frame on my sisters car
put my front clip back on. i'll roll it out and take some picks tomorrow. gotta fix a stud for the exhasut manifold. and i just drained half a tank of varnished gas out of it
alright, i think i may have a problem. i started my 94 today and it idled fine. then when it warmed up a little, the idle dropped like its supossed to but then it started going up and down. i think it might be the idle air temperature sensor or whatever but im not sure. any ideas?
so i was driving around yesterday and i noticed that the back of my truck sits way high. im planning on taking out the overloads but i dont think that'll bring it down enough :/ it looks like it has 3" angled blocks on it but im not sure
your idle problem is tough to, trouble shoot with what little info i have but my first guess's are check your coolant level, and when does this occur? if it happens when depressing the brakes check your booster. If you're loosing coolant and have no external leaks then you know what that means? If the coolant is low and you have no idea why get a sniffer tester for combustion gasses in the coolant. Ask me how i know why. Then again it could be something as simple as low coolant and your good to go after topping it off. For the rear end sitting too high i'd just throw some weight in the back but then again i use my truck to haul all sorts of stuff so i like the rear sitting high so when i have stuff in the bed the rear isn't to low. Swap blocks for different ones.
the idle problem actually went away. and as far as putting weight in the back, i hauled a pool table across town and it brought the back down just perfect lol. i wouldnt imagine it would handle very well though
i put the shorter shocks that i had on the back of my 84 on today and it brought it down an inch. also threw the rear sway bar on and it handles so much better. one of the shocks were out so when i got on it and shifted to second it felt like the rear end washed out lol. so here are the "performance" mods i have so far: - 1 ton front sway bar - drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads - k&n air filter for my stock air box (putting my cone filter on after i smog it) - electric fan - heilwig rear sway bar - TRD shift knob (everyone knows it adds 5 hp) also measured the blocks in the back and they are 3" angled aluminum blocks. up front the torsions are cranked for a 3" drop and i flipped the ball joints. as far as cosmetics, i have those pretty H4 housings with the bulbs they came with for now, smoked tails, and i put my nissan buckets in. it came with a 10" grant steering wheel. gotta find some dash pieces and im looking for an SR5 gauge cluster too. thats up to date for now. i'll keep everyone posted and probably end up posting some random pics soon
it was on sale for $419! it doesnt come with nav but i dont really need that. the reviews for it are great. i think im gonne wait til black friday to get it. regular price is $450 so hopefully it will come down a little
