Hey guys, I'm new to the forums as of a few days ago. I recently bought a 1977 Toyota pickup from a wrecking yard. I paid $500.00 and it came with a camper shell (dump). The truck drove home from Sacramento pretty good and I am now going through the emissions to get it to pass smog. I MAY need a new carb and I am leaning AWAY from a webber as I am seeing used Toyota ones go for like $50.00 on ebay. I did have to pay ALOT for a new EGR valve but it's needed as mine does not work. Anyway my plans are to eventually drop this thing to the ground and drive it as is for a while. I kinda want to paint it either a cool looking silver or the original yellow, what do you guys think? As far as wheels go I want to go with stockish rims with beauty rings and chrome caps with white walls.

That is a sweet ride. I wish that I could find a ride like that at yards around here. Welcome to TM.

Thanks for the friendly welcome guys! I'm in Stockton Ca to be exact, kind of central California really but the northern part of it. I wish I knew more local mini total owners, ice seen a few other older trucks in town but there isn't too many lowered or tricked out ones around here. Ya this is a pretty straight truck for the price i paid, although I did see a MINT 1977 short bed in craigslist with like 20,000 orional miles on it (not 120,000 or 220,000) but they were asking like $4,000. I would have paid 2,500 (which I offered) but they didn't respond. I'm sure they got 4 or close to it. That's a rare find. Btw my truck has all the A/c components still in it and after I get it running good I might try to get it working. Stockton gets pretty hot in the summer!
