The first thing people are gonna do is suggest brands. Everyone has "thier" brand. I have mine........JL Audio (cough cough). The first thing I suggest is go out and check out different brands and listen for yourself.

    Anyways, on to the questions.

1)What kind of budget do you have?
2)What kind of bass to you want? Loud or tight/accurate?
3)What kind of music do you listen to?

He will tell you but package deal was well over your budget. If you got an xplod deck then use an xplod amp I'm not dropping brands names but always had the most luck keeping everything branded together however if your gonna run jl I don't think an xplod amp would meet the ohm impedance

nope, jl's run stupid ohm setups. 3ohm coils and crap like that....
you got to remember that there are going to be other items you are going to need then just an amp and subs. you are going to need correct wire to carry power to the amp, probably a better battery then the one you have now im assuming, and maybe even a second battery to help out the tiny alt that comes on these trucks. for 500 bucks you are going to blow your wad on 2 jl10's and then be SOL for the rest of your setup.

look into some alpine type r subs, they are cheap, sound decent and CAN get loud in the right box.

go on ebay and get yourself a cheap 4awg wire kit.. here http://cgi.ebay.com/Kicker-PKD4-Dua...539?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f57a8fc3

look into finding an old JBL BP1200.1 an newerish alpine or kicker amp. These arent the best of the best stuff but it will get you going and try to keep yourself in a realistic budget while sounding "better/louder for the buck"

    just my 2 cents

I'm running two JL 10W3v2's with a Rockford Punch P500-1 mono amp in a bedbox. Sound awesome!

Yeah, I've got around $3500 into my setup.

I thought the same thing about runnin all same brand. But talking with Billy, I think otherwise now. Like he says, different brands excel in certain products.

With the odd ohm loads, only the W7 series does that, nothin else.

I'm running 700 total rated watts (1,000 watts according to the amps birth charts) with no capacitor and factory alt. Just an Optima red top battery, upgraded battery ground wire. 0/1 ga. from battery to fuse block from there 4 ga. to each amp. No problems at all, even dimming lights.

The thing I like about JL subs is you don't need alot of power to make them sound good.

I like crossfire and arc audio subs. Crossfire hits really hard with little power. My buddy had 2 15s with a 600 watt amp an I could hear an feel it from a good distance but like said before it's what brands certain ppl like

caps dont do ****, and i didnt say to add one. a red top is an upgraded bat like i told him to run. a big 3 ( the 4 awg ground, amp and alt wire replacement ) helps a ton, but thats later on. i hate jl subs, they sound like poo and cost too much. their lower end stuff isnt great and for less you can get more from another brand.

i gotta get out of this thread, too much beer and im starting to rant.

I'm gonna go a different direction here.

ONE infinity perfect 10 (if you can find one), in a properly ported 1 cubic foot box (flared port on both ends, kinda like a trumpet)

one 2ch amp, atleast 600 watts

Call it a day. I listen to metal, and sometimes oldies and bluegrass, which means I like a tight accurate bass like you would get from a sealed box. However, i find that a perfect 10 reproduces music surprisingly accurate and clean, yet it's completely capable of rattling your teeth out of your head.

just my 200ths of a dollar.

I understand what you are saying, but I didn't upgrade my alt wires. Still no problems.

I know everyone has their opinion, and I'm not saying you're wrong. But I've read alot of comparison tests and JL has won most of them. On the other hand, I do agree with you on the cost.

You're trying to compare an entry level JL against an Alpine Type-R, and thats not a fair fight. I like Alpine, I like Rockford, but you take an entry level sub from each and put them up against an entry level JL. The JL will walk all over 'em.

I agree, Infinity makes some good products as well.

but on the budget he has he can get an entry jl or a type r. so its kinda an unfair fight in that sense. if jl was cheaper i would reccomend them, but unless you have the coin to get a w7 there really isnt a point of getting jl.

But a type-r is more than an entry JL.

    92 Extra Cab
I had a 15 Fi sub in my old extra cab with 3K worth of sundown audio power.
Heres a link to the sub. They got many different lines.
    https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficarau...ata/0050_Speakers/product_overview.shopscript

And heres the amps. They got 2ch, 4ch, class D monoblocks from 1K-4500K
    http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/amplifiers.html

This is what kinda batteries i run. XS Power.
    http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/67397-kinetik-hc3800-vs-xs-power-d3100/

Then you going need sound deadener.
    http://www.fatmat.com/

Also dont go cheap on that part. Heres a netural party doing a test comparing all brands and showing the differences.

Like what everyone else said you definatly gotta increase your budget. Also caps suck, so remember that. Good luck with your build. Welcome to the addiction.
