Hey everyone... Any of you guys "murdered-out" the look of your trucks? I saw a newer Tocoma the other day here in ATL that was bainted satin-black... everything was black. I thought it looked cool, but was wondering what my '88 would look like done this way. Anyone have any pictures? My truck is a '88 2WD regular cab with a longbed. It is already black and I plan to upgrade the front with a newer bumper/valance and 4WD fenders. I also have a set of 17X9 inch wheels with 255/40ZR17 that I plan to shoehorn underneath. Any thoughts???? Thanks. Tony P.
dont think i seen one yet. but im sure someone has. post some pics of your truck and maybe someone can do some photoshop to get an idea?
If I had a scanner I could post pics of my 88 Toyota from my high school days. Its was a 2wd all black out with 4x4 fenders, bed & 91 4x4 front bumper conversion. I even had the windows blacked out to 5%. I was also running 16-inch 300Z rims that I had painted black to match the truck & I loved it!! So I say go with it!!
Here's mine Technically not murdered out, mainly because of the chrome left on there. but i like it. i call her "lady magic". 7 cans of Krylon Ultra-flat black spray paint.
Put a main switch on your lights and you can run away from the cops at night! Ultimate nightime camo. You guys must remember something though. If you dump alot of spray-bomb flat black enamel on your truck, it can cause problems if you do ever decide to paint it with quality paint such as urethanes. I use a gloss urethane paint with flattener, which dulls it out just enough to not be reflective, but it stays smooth and durable enough so the sun doesn't bake it off and everytime you wash your truck it doesn;t come off on the rag and you have to add more paint every 30 days to keep it from rusting through (which it will do because flat paint will not keep moisture out). The original term we use (as well as the street rodders for the last 50 years) is "Black suede". It's not flat, not gloss, but more of a satin finish.
