Ok I have been roaching around (reading late at night when most are sleep) on this site for a few months now trying to figure out what I want to do with my 91 2wd pickup. Reading to see what will work and what will not. I had pretty much decided that I liked the 4runner front end look for my pickup when I ran across a 92 4runner for a steal so I picked it up.
Now do I have ths correct? The 92 4runner 2wd front end (Hood,Fenders,Grill, lights,Bumper,Radiator support) will fit on my 91pickup 2wd regular cab? And if so why do some people end up with corner lights and some do not? I dont undertand. Will the fenders fit too cause they look a little different than pickup fenders and I need a drivers side fender anyway? Do I also understand that the power mirrors will fit but the doors will not? Do I have that part right also? I know I can use the bucket seats. What about the tilt steering column from the 4runner will it fit?
Steering and ingnition look almost exactly the same as the one in my pickup. What about the instrument panel from 4runner will it go and if so will tachometer work? Is there anything else off the 4runner I might want to keep before I call the junk man to come pick it up? Any helpful advice will be appreciated

everything you mentioned will pretty much fit..its the xcab doors that are longer that will not fit...cluster will fit, tach might or might not work depending on if your truck is pre wired for it,if not its easy to hook it up with an external wire and BEFORE you hook it up be sure to disconnect your oil pressure sender on the passenger side of the engine block, if you don't it will fry the gauge, you need to buy a oil pressure sensor to make it work....fenders will bolt on, headlights i believe require some modification or a 4runner radiator support..there are lots of threads on this here, do a search for it!

Most parts are interchangable. I do believe you have to trim the front core to fit the 4runner headlights. The 4runner and 4wd pickup fenders are the same, but yes the 2wd are different. The doors are different at the top corner. And depending on the doors you currently have are if the 4runner mirrors will fit, at least without some cutting.

Wow all that sounds great appreciate the response. If I understand the response though one of you is saying the fenders on the 92 4runner are different and one of you is saying they are the same I guess I'm going to have (o pull them and find out. If I understood what joeynational wrote correctly the doors of the 4runner will fit on my pickup? If that is correct that's really good news. I can get the power windows and mirrors on my truck!! Did I really read that reply correctly talk about pimp my ride!!

I've heard that the 4runner doors square off at the top back corner of the door and the pickup doors are rounded. The fenders are only different because the the 4runner and 4wd have a flare to them and the 2wd don't. But they bolt right on.

i might be wrong about the doors...but the fenders will bolt up, yes they are different but they still bolt up, they have a flare to them similar to the bed, allot of people use them to clear bigger rims when lowered

as far as the power windows and mirros your probably gonna want to hold onto the 4runner fuse box

if your parts runner is a 2door pretty much every thing will fit all the way from the front bumper to the doors,if its a 4door your limited from the front bumper to the fender on the exterior but for the interior your gud back to the front bucket's that pretty much also gos with the 2door as wel.gud luck with your build.hope to see pix of your build partner.:waytogo:
