I recently picked up a 1989 Toyota Pickup here in town. Bought it from a guy that purchased it in 1991; this was his baby and really didn't want to get rid of it but he didn't need it anymore. Body is clean and it's mechanically strong; it has 186,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ. I've done some minor fixes to it so far and I joined this forum so I can get some help/advice in the future.
welcome! Lots of knowledge and friendly people here. We're all pic whores, so you made a good first post. MOAR PICS!!
Clean find. Love the radio flyer sticker. If you dont mind what did you pick it up for? Also what are the basic plans for now?
Welcome to TM. More pics the better on here. Sp whats the plans for her? Do be affraid to ask anything on here, there is alot of knowledgable people on here that can help you through anything.
Da Roach . . . . . ThanX! I picked it up for $800. The guys said it needed some carb work; it was sputtering when I bought it. Took it home and traced the fuel lines and found a pinched line. Cleared the pinch and it ran like brand new. I took it to my mechanic to check out the overall condition and he offered to buy it without even opening the hood or driving the truck. I'm pretty happy with the find.
Things I’ve done so far: *Painted rusted front Bumper and Steelies *Remove bench and added buckets from a Dodge Dakota *Added RF sticker *Rims off of a G35 To do: *Install 25mm Wheel Adapters (arriving tomorrow) *Lower front end ~1”-1.5” *Plugs and wires *Carpet *Tint Not to sure what the final truck will be but I’ll have fun in the process.
I have a Wheel question, I ordered some hub-centric wheel adapters (25mm) with a 67.1mm center bore. The G35 rims that are on it now are 66.1mm center bore. Should I take the rims to get them bored out (to 67.1mm) or should I runs a grinder to the rims to make them fit?
I used the store bought 5/16" generic spacers but I ordered some Adapters for the stance, clearance and stud lenght concerns. I'm just not sure if it's worth the money and time to change the center bore on the rims for 1mm when I have a dremel at home.
Well in my opion i would get them done cause i dont like to chance anything that has to do with the wheels. But i know alot of people have done it there self. Just take you time.
Welcome. Nice truck clean plans for it too. and this is definatly a good forum to be on. What year dakota are those seats out of? They look comfy...
Not quite sure on the year . . . found them on CL and they were already out of the truck. Very Comfy seats.
