thanks josh! i'd honestly suggest getting some cando's. i don't have the equipment to machine the sleeves like the cando's. and using a stock style arm just looks like ass lol. i found out making arms costs almost as much as buying a set, except mine are fit to my exact needs.

thanks ashton! i hope someday :D then my goal will be achieved!! lol

thanks james! yeah the tank will work. i think i'm going to modify the brackets a bit though to make it sit where i want it.. also the 4 bungs along the tank will be plugged and facing down, with one as a water drain. pressure in and out will be off the sides. should look pretty sexy once the frame is metallic grey, with the chrome links and polished stainless hardlines :D

i got mine dirt cheap so i think it was worth it.. lol

i'll say if you want to bag it with big wheels the stock suspension sucks. but if you want to do a restore/ static drop i'd imagine it would be a good platform.

Your doing some amazing fab work there. Couple questions since I don't know anything about dropped rigs or anything else for that matter: 1. Can you steer at all when the front is dropped? 2. how do you get air to the radiator with the grill blocked off?

    thanks!

steering down low on a slammed truck varies. if i was running small tires i could turn a lot, but with the big rims i have very little turning. it's enough to ride about an inch off the ground on straight roads, or sweeping turns on the highway, but to make any sharp turns i'll have to raise it up.

for the radiator i just have to cut the rest of it out. the holes i drilled so the corners of the cut out would have a radius. but i decided to leave the center in until it's all welded to help keep it from warping.

    thanks!

it's actually the closest at about 2" from full lift. basically when the rim is lined up with the fender arch. even then it's still got about 5/8".

Hey Burn, this is a bit off topic of ur hilux, which is a beautiful build by the way we all can't wait to see it done, especially a few that are waiting for you to leave the keys in it lol :D anyways on the bodydrop.org site you had a post from a while back bout your "kid's ;) " radio flyer, that you did the a-arms on, was just wondering if you ever finished it, and would love to see pics. Im dying to hack..*cough*cough*..."modify" my son's, if I can sneak it away from my wife 1st. Best Wishes.-Joe

Hey guys just thought I'd do a quick update. well yesterday the tranny wen't out in my daily driver :( but it's all good, the reverse has been slipping for a while and I've been expecting it. so a while back I picked up a spare and was just waiting for that lucky day. and the fellas from the truck club is going to help me swap them out, its a 1986 Jaguar XJS 5.3L V12....soooo yeah it's going to be a fun job :D , were starting on it today, so Maybe sometime through the week I'll be able to get started on pulling that little 4 banger outta the yota and grab the vaseline for the smallblock :D . Best Wishes Guys, and wish me luck back working on this ole British car, lol its not japanese so it might be a "lovely" job :waytogo:
