Hey I'm switching from EFI to Mikuni 44's. I bought the carbs of a guy who ran them on a 20r in a late 70 celica, so I'm not sure if I have all the **** to connect the cable. Any one got any good pics of how they've done it?
I have a stock cable pulley welded to the throttle shaft on mine. Don't have any pictures of it though, sorry. You will also need to make some sort of bracket to hold the cable in place.
Cable Yes,its a stock cable but it has an adapter from the stock cable to the ball on the linkage.but there's a way to just run it straight up from the stock cable to the linkage.let me get sum pick's from that set up.when i find them ill post them up.
cable set up here's a pick of the stock cable set up with the dual carb's: LOL...on the zipp Tye's,this set up had all the proper bolt's on it but the owner never likes to listen so one night at the race track his truck started to have a throttle problem, come to find out he was missing one bolt on the throttle linkage.so he ends up pulling a qwik fixx with the zipp tye's.i tell him thats only a temporary fix."guess wat, that was like 4 month's a go and he's still rockin them zipp tye's"
You will have to do some fabricating to make it work but it's not hard to do. Just make sure that the throttle motion is smooth and free from binding. I have a set of mikuni's that didn't come with complete linkage. They had the ball sockets on the levers but no rods. I found that the throttle rods from the early volvo 740's worked perfectly. I also used some throttle linkage parts from the 280z's to complete the mikuni linkages.
