    IDK a tool box, or

Back half the truck and/or put ladder bars.

Ladder bars get the "lift" point of the rear axle bout 3 ft farther forward, with massive leverage. Ill eventually do it.

Ive heard of Lightning guys filling there tubular bumpers with concrete also...

was thinking make somthing out of concrete that mounts in the the middle of the bed that i can easily take out with an engine lift but if i was to get in a wreck 200lbs comes flying to my cab kinda scary but i had thoughts of maybe puting huge bolts like 5 on the bottom to bolt to my bed for safety reason lemme know what you guys think

4 link or ladder bars...will make ya faster for the track cause you have traction not weight... i dont know about ice though, im in san diego, we dont have seasons here.

For the icey winters... Buy a twin or full size air bed and fill it with water... Next morning it'll be a big ice cube that won't slide around in the bed. Wally world sells them for around 10 bucks or so... Just a thought... I have no icey road driving experience btw... :waytogo:

haha, if I do I'd build me a 4X4 with 38" interco boggers, locked axles front/rear and huge tube bumpers on both ends!

The water bag is a good idea actually. Just don't fill it more than about 70% of the way so it doesnt burst the seams. Keep it tied down with a couple straps to loops in the floor. For in case you wreck. If this was a permanent idea and you want the weight there all year, I would say to build a subfloor above the airmat full of water. You would loose depth but you could control weight by adding or taking the water.

Actually a better permanent option would be inner bedside tanks. Only a few inches wide, but top to bottom and front to back. Have a filler cap on each one at the back corner, and a small drain spout at the bottom. So you can fill and drain it as you need it. For winter, just leave the fill cap off and it wont burst the tanks. Should just freeze until it stops pushing extra water out.

Rough measurements of 72"L x 24"H x 6"W with a 20% volume loss for the wheel tubs equals about 70 gallons of water between the two tanks. If you used them as fuel tanks instead of ballast tanks, it could add up to about 500lbs for race day. And it removes the stock one to let you run a better performing suspension setup like a 4 link.

I don't know about how legal it is for gas tank placement to be that close to the edges of the vehicle. But semis have big drums on the side so maybe it doesn't matter. I thought about this same idea for my toyota. Then I could also drive it all the way to california on a tank

I lived in the Colorado Rockies for 4 years. (2 w my truck). 205/14 blizzak snow tires, and a junkie 5m motor in the bed got me more places than I should have gone. No locker.

Back when it didnt have enough power to spin em anyway...

Good theory haha. I had a 92 2wd with garbage 14" street tires and just loaded up 2 sets of tires and wheels from our piles. lol. Got enough traction in the back to get around most places too.

if you do some sort of tank make sure it has baffles in it so all the water dnt just slosh around and make u lose control.

On "TRUCKS!" a while back they advertised a water bag thing that had the shape of the inside of the bed so u just lay it in the bed, strap it and fill it.

the reason semi's can have them is because diesel don't go boom like gas does.. lol

i've literally welded punctured aluminum diesel tanks when they have fuel in them. if you get it hot enough it will ignite (i kept a air nozzle to pressurize the tank, which would kill the fire), but doesn't explode
