Ok, well I figured it best I introduce myself... I don't (currently) have plans for any sort of madness with my latest ute (pickup? lol) but thought that you guys would be a wealth of information and no doubt some entertainment...

Anyways I'm Vince and I just bought this:

It is a 1988 Diesel, long tray... it does need a bit of work in tidying up the body (how hard is a cab swap?) and things but it runs great... hopefully I can get it patched up for a wof then start slowly giving it a bit of a tidy/paint/low etc

Anywho that's me so Hi :D

Correct hand drive is how we say it over here... as we drive on the correct side of the road :D lol, glad to be here guys!

How difficult is it to remove the cab? I think I have a lead on a less rusty one and am contemplating a swap but if it is a nightmare (ie remove most of the truck to get it off) I will just repair the rust... hmmm

i love it i love it i love it!!!! beautiful truck man, diesels are pretty rare over here but i was lucky enough to find one lol i just wish mine was "correct hand drive" as u call it good luck with ur truck, i havent personally removed a cab yet on one of these trucks but its probably easier then fixing rust if there is alot of it i would personally fix the rust on the original cab myself

i pulled my 79 cab off tonight in 15 minutes by myself, but the motor and tranny are gone as well as the doors and fender.. lol only had to do 6 body mounts, 3 brake lines, steering shaft and e-brake.

have you checked out www.minitruckin.co.nz ?

Thanks heaps for that guys, will check out yotascene, yup belong to minitruckin.co.nz :)

Am in New Zealand... which is near Australia... a bit further down haha.

"Del Fuego" may be from wild hogs but i got it from an associate who used to enter bars with a high volume "my penis is the penis of fire" but in spanish... which is something along the lines of "mi pene es el pene del fuego" or something along those lines...

anyway I own a couple of websites that review motorcycles and scooters and write under the pen name of Del Fuego, hence is easy to use in forums...

they are, incase you want to check em www.thescooterreview.com and www.themotorcyclereview.com

    Cheers
