what kinda connections on the vid cam do you have? (firewire, usb, S-video, rca the easiest way is to use a firewire cord from camera to comp.
would need either some pictures of your camera or a link to the manual. i do this crap for a living EDIT: i take it back, just go to the sony site and post the link to the manual, then take a pic of the back of your comp or look for a firewire port.
thanks much for all the help. my wife said she knows how to do it. there is a cable/wire that hooks to near my svideo cable plugs into and she said that cable i need is lost. I remebered after she showed me and at the end is a USB on the other is like a miniture looking USB or something like that. im gonna try and pick one up at bestbuy or circuit city if i get time. thanks for the help SHo
Well as long as we are on the subject i have a sony handy cam and my computer wont read the disk and the only cable it has is for the tv...Do you know what to do with that one?
grounds- your looking for a cable that has a S-video cable and a red and white rca then ends up in a usb cable, quality isnt so great but thats coming from somebody working with HD. search your comp for "windows movie maker" if it doesnt come up search your XP disc, if it still doesnt come up its a free download if you have a valid copy of XP. if you dont have a valid copy im sure you can find it, or adobe premier. predracer- it sounds like you have one of those F'd up dvd camcorders. unfortunatly for the common man there is no way to simply store the video on your comp. it HAS to be burnt to the dvd. you can edit and modify the footage with the use of a usb cord. but you still have to burn it to a disk ON the camera. the only way ive found to capture the video off the camera is to play it into a video capture card ($$$). and even then the quality kinda sucks. please keep in mind that i dont have a personal camera and im just spoiled with professional equipment.
