Well, I was 16 when I started this project a Junior in Highschool. I had an Auto Class at my school which was were I learned alot about bodywork. My dad had a badly repainted 1986 Toyota standard pickup.. It was really boring without any Boss upgrades... so I decided to sand it down.. shave some stuff and rebuild the motor by the time I turned 18 and got my drivers liscense. Little did I know how much I really wanted to do...

Nice looking project. What are the spec's on it now and your plans for it. I like the the old school toyota logo in the grill.

OH. Thanks brother... well as you can see there wasnt much more I could do to the truck without body work... or paint... and most importantly money...but that being said I decided to sand it down and see how far I can get it. The first thing that really got me torqued was that awful body stripping on the body line and the oversized mirrors.... so zipp... there gone

And as for the grille my old man had it on his 83 toy.. not sure where he got it...

Well as I progressed to see how the other door was I find it... BONDO. heavy and it was wayyy to thick to leave.. obviously some dumb ass who owned this truck before was too cheap to buy a new door for $40 at the pick n pull but decided to spent $30 on 2 gallons of bondo to "repair" the door. but I digress. So new door for me...

After a full day of primering at my high school...pretty good for my first time painting.. and if your wondering why some of its pink and grey primer.. its cause it was really hot that day and I had evercoat grey primer and my teacher mixed the primer wayyyy to lean way too much hardner in fact 2x what it said... so it dried inside the paint hopper.. so he gave me some of his ppg pink epoxy primer..

I would say the second pic, the other one is to grey but if you like grey more then white then the first one. Well what one just jumps out at you? go with that one?

wow, that is a hard choice! im sorta feelin the gunmetal more, but the white does have a very nice look. i think it comes down to how much u want to keep the paint clean..as in white shows alot, the gunmetal probly wont show as much..
