Got seat belts out of a truck PROBLEM

    Got like new belts out of a toyota on craigs but i cant seem to get them to pull out of the retractor. they seem stuck. whats the deal anyone?

    i had a similar problem when i installed new seat belts in my old truck. trying to extend and retract them outside the truck they didnt work but once i bolted them in they actually worked. something to do with the unit itself beingthe proper direction and bolted up. it was wierd.

    make sure when you are pulling it out that the retractor is straight up because it has a little inertia lock that will not allow it to pull out if its not situated right.

    Sounds like a safety feature in case you roll and land upside down... :shrug:

    its the same thing that locks the belt when you step on the brake really hard or if you lean forward too fast.

    i was thinking it might require some type of ground to release the inerta pin.

    any ways im not to concerned ill check it out later when i get home.
