I have warrantied a few snap on soft grip screwdrivers because they were peeling. I would imagine they would do the same for the ratchets.

I hate craftsman ratchets , and their new policy doesn't allow sears to warranty ratchets in store anymore, you have to wait for them to send you a new one by mail.:looney::mad:

They don't even let you trade up to a more expensive tool and pay the difference anymore.:mad::looney::mad::mad:

i think craftsman is good for home/hobby/automotive

i worked on stuff like this:

one time we had to remove some bolts that a impact couldn't access. i took my brand new (literally) 1/2" craftsman with a 2' cheater pipe and snapped it on the first pull. then i took a snap-on (same size as craftsman) and put the same cheater and pulled. it didn't break, but it didn't take the bolt loose. so then i took a 7' piece of tubing and stuck it on the handle, and me and a co worker both pulled it and removed 3 bolts before it broke.

i still have the broken 1/2" craftsman... i warrantied the snap on.

i do buy some harbor freight stuff though. there big 3/4" drive sockets hold up well, even while using a 1" impact with a reducer. and they sell the big wrench set that goes up to 2". never seen one break yet, but they're pretty beefy

Yea definatly the price of snap on sucks, but the tools are put together better.

For instance, nothings better than a fine tooth snap on ratchet to get that 3 degrees of travel to get that super bastard bolt out.

Ive had a friend try to get an intake bolt off of his benz. After the nut was half rounded because of his loose fitting craftsman wrench, mine got it out easy. Just a tolerance thing. :verdict_in:

I was just at sears today. 30-35 bucks for a 3/8s ratchet long handle. A snappy ratchet off the trucks 100 min. FYI. :waytogo:
