As i'm a member of Yotatech.com i've learned a lot and helped many people out via the internet so any questions for me feel free to ask. I'm new to the 2wd scene and heard good things about this site and it seems after some reading you guys and girls have a handle on the 2wd suspension and how to modify it to your needs. I on the other hand own a 1990 4x4 dlx with a few mods and i'm more tuned to the 4x4 suspension. Here's some pics of my dd and trail rig.

If you have any questions about the motor suspension set up or anything else for that matter let me know. It's got too much stuff to list.

Here's my next project and the reason i joined the forum. 1991 2wd pickup. Nothing special but a fun project for me. I've always wanted to have a lifted 4x4 and a slammed 2wd in my drive way. It's got some issues but nothing i can't handle. Minor body work, blown head gasket, needs the timing chain replaced. And other little crap. I traded a jeep xj cherokee straight up for it the other day and i couldn't be happier. Only 139,000 miles!

There you have it. The truck came with a name. Travis! The other truck the 4x4 is Mightymouse. So here come the questions. I'm set on 18's so what rims are a direct swap? Meaning no modifications or spacers. I understand the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 but the truck having hubcentric front wheels i know only certain vehicles will swap without spacers or boring out the center. I know how to build motoras so the little 22re will get a cam, header, high flow head with over size valves, intake from a supra (1982 AFM), No cat exhaust. Basic stuff to give the 22re some pep. Marlon crawler clutch is going in as well. Suspension mods will include a 2" drop kit from belltech. Do you all know where to get it the cheapest. I found it for 600.00 so far is that reasonable? Paint will be a combo of silver and red. At least that's what i've come up with so far. The paint might change but it's the last thing to do so i've got time. Do you guys have any other suggestions no matter how far fetched to get this thing to ride well and have some pep? It's also going to be a daily driver quad hauler so the suspension needs to stay mild. Thanks for looking let me know what you think!

One more question for you. Can the you install power steering? Assuming you can but how involved is and is it worth it? Aside from a power steering pump and the bracketry what other parts are involved. Like the steering box, does it need to be replaced or can i tap it for power steering? Obviuosly i'll need another belt but can i leave the harmonic balancer alone?

Those two are nice. i want your whitewalls....

And just do a 4/3 drop. Get drop spindles and crank the torsions. And hit up beefedtaco for some drop blocks. If your guna haul sh!t id buy his blocks. theyre way stronger than the pepboys blocks

as far as wheels you'll have a hard time finding some where center caps go on especially if you want the lugs exposed.. i got tired of trying to find the right set that would fit so last month raceline was running a smoking deal on some 2pc billet 20's and gave them all the measurements and in less than 3 weeks custom built and to my door.. billets are a little pricey but they fit like no other when you go this route...

Its easy as pie. Did it to my truck.

Gearbox, resevour, hi-side line, low side line, a cooler (or stock or whatever) pump with bracket, bolts, belt and a bolt on crank pully.

I love it. Turns tires with ease. No noticable drop in power.

Welcome to TM. Try to make a build thread with pics if you can for the project. That's always nice. Something I didn't do.

Welcome and welcome and 1 more time, welcome.

Finally, someone who has practical plans for there truck. I was beging to feel alone. It seems everyone w/ a Toyota just wants to drop it till it drags the rockers off.

It seems you have a good idea for your truck. A really nice stance and a clean body.

Love the 4x4 by the way. Very nicely done. Purposeful but not over the top.

You sir, are a welcome addition to our little corner of the web !!!!! :waytogo::meemee::evil:

bumping my own thread to update you guys. Last weak this happened. http://www.yotatech.com/f116/rip-mightymouse-my-truck-caught-fire-time-new-one-222309/ so the 91 2wd project that was waiting for winter got kicked into high gear as the daily driver. did the timing chain yesterday and the little truck runs like a champ. Everything else it good just one more thing to take care of before inspection but i have one more question for you guys. This truck is gonna need rims soon or i'm gonna hate it. So what make and model cars are direct swap meaning unbolt and put directly on my truck. No spacers no machining no nothing just buy the rims off craigslist with tires and bolt them on. i don't care about center caps or the minor stuff only if they will function, not rub, and easy. I don't wanna just buy some rims with the same bolt pattern only to find i need spacers or bore out the center or they rub. I also don't want new i really want to just go on craigslist and find a pair off of lets say, a stratus and put them on the pickup. Thanks in advance for the advice guys. seems a lot easier for the 4x4's but what do i know.
