Well I didnt know what to title this thread but here goes. Im going to explain my current job situation now, and what I think I want.. NOTE this is just a JOB, temporary JOB! I will be going to school. But I need to save money for school and my yota of course.

Ive been working at a retirement home for about 9 months, 7.25 an hour, HARD WORK. I serve in the restaurant and wear a tux to work everyday... its really higgh end... so I apply at cracker barrel for a server to make more money, serving which is what I do but I get hired as a dish washer at 8.25 an hour.. not bad... so I push away the old folks for this... then my friend at my old job calls me and says hey im dating the new owner, I can get your old job back at jackes hamburgers, Which I LOVED THAT JOB! anyways so i go there for 7.50 an hour not bad.. but it led to me getting fired from the old folk home which was a 40 hour a week job, because i couldnt get my schedules together...

SO now my cracker barrel job has cut me down to 1 shift a week ! im working like 30 hours a week at jakes... I need more money though...soo much drama with the owner dating my friend and it just sucks.. awesome job **** coworkers...

oh yeah and cracker barrel june 25th i will be cross trained as a server, since my 3 month trial period is over i can move up in the joint, but i dont see me getting much hours.. awesome job, i get full benefits for 10 bucks a week, and if i move they will give me a job at another store

So what I want to do is cut my hours back at jakes and maybe look for a new job, here are my interests, Im very good with people and I make a damn good salesmen.

I could get hired at tire kingdom for like 9.00 an hour because im friends with the General managers kid. Im really thinking about it...

Then I kinda want to get into mobile car detail but start my own gig... by my own equip, and get my own contracts or sales...

or even get hired as a server or grill cook at chillis or something... grill cooks make like 10 11 bucks an hour and im good on the grill and have exp. Plus im a very good server... IDK WHAT TO DO ! I LOVE TO WORK HARD AND LOVE LONG HOURS ! but IDK what route to go.... I think if I could choose anything right now, would to be a car salesmen. I really like the idea of dress shirts and ties to work, instead of hair nets and aprons....

sooo.. I wanna hear your ideas guys...im 18 just graduated high school and im looking to start making some real money and save up for some edumacationnnn

Go into buisness for yourself. Sounds like you have the motivation. Just need the direction.

    For Example....

Im 21 (just), Ive been workin as a mechanic for 2.5-3 years. 1.5 of those I went to trade school too. My daytime job I make 13 bucks an Hour (pitiful, but times are tough and you cant be greedy) so I pull about 1800-2100 a month takehome.

Now about 2-3 weeks ago my dad egged me on badly about getting some cards made up. Mobile mechanic buisness cards. In that time, Ive done about six jobs, that all took about 6 hours total, and have an EXTRA 500 bucks in profit.

95 isuzu alt. Part cost 119, 220 installed
96 Impala, Rad and coolant 200, 300 installed.
    ect.

Now I get a fat hook up at the parts store, I get shop prices. My nextdoor neighbor is my contact for everyone. She gets me customers, I buy her a few lotto scratch-offs.

And buisness is really picking up, I have my weekends full now.

Soo, go into buisness for yourself. I bet you could make it. Theres lots of peope out there who need stuff. Just figure out what... :waytogo:

    Here's what I did...

I worked third shift as a night auditor/front desk @ a few hotels while I was going to school (one hotel 4 10 hours shifts, one hotel 3 10 hour shifts). I got into classes that were all before noon, so I could still get home and manage *close* to 8 hours sleep before my shifts. Hotel night work was easy, and it paid well ($10/hour @ 1, $9.50/hour @ other). I was able to do *all* my homework while at work.

And people are so much more interesting coming into the hotel after midnight. LOL

Now I have a cake job as a computer programmer. OK salary for an entry level programmer, consistent hours, every weekend off...

I need to do some serious saving if I wanna open up shop. equipment is expensive.

My cousin is looking into getting me into local deliveries in a big rig or pulling orders at a shipping dock with forklifts....

    Javi,

There's a lot going on in your thread.. I'll make it short and simple..., My opinion of course.. What you first have to do is really sit down and think about what you're doing.. You have so many things that you're trying to do that you won't be able to do any of them in the long run.. Think about your future and not just the immediate needs.. Life goes bye to quickly and sooner then what you think you're in your late 20's, 30's, or even 40's asking your self., "what have I done?".. Get a good head over your shoulders now and make up your mind about life and your future... We live in one of the riches countries in the world... and yet we can't make up our minds because we have so many options... Hope I'm not sounding like I'm bashing or anything.., my opinion though.. Work hard and pursue the things that make you happy! don't give in to all of that youngster BS.. none of that will matter in end.. pick a job! any job!! preferably a job that will give you useful skills.. and work hard! go to school.. learn a trade, be an entrepreneur, but don't get stuck making up your mind about what to do... make a written plan of goals and dreams if you have too.. nobody will know.. it's your life!

people will always tell you.. you're young, you have plenty of time.., but the reality of life is that none of us are getting younger.. we have only one life so we better make the best of it.!!

    my .02 cents..

i would definitely consider working for urself, just start off small in ur backyard and do a couple side jobs, u might not have much equipment at first but u have to start somewhere.
i dont have much room to talk though seeing as i went straight from high school to wyotech and even though ive been doing bodywork for close to 5 years i cant find a job at any bodyshop and im to stubborn to work anywhere else lol but doing a couple side jobs for friends has definitely helped me out even though i dont have any of my own tools, sorry if im rambling lol

Well i agree alot with DANNYBOYRUDE on this one, but it is your life. I will tell you one thing though, i used to be where your at and said i need money now, and i have plenty of time to figure it out. I wanted to go to school to but didnt have the money so i went through what your going through and that was at age 17. So i got a warehouse job at 10 hour, I was rolling in the money. But instead of saving i spent it like crazy on stuff i really wanted and always said ill save the next check. Now here i am at 29 and didnt get to go to school and started a family, Dont get me wrong i wouldnt trade my family for anything but after jumping from job to job and times being rough i never got to go do what i wanted to do. Time flys, it flys bye faster then you think. So please dont just jump into something, think about and go to school. But all and all good luck and what i would give to be 18 again.

    I feel ya.
1- I AM GOING TO COLLEGE. Ive already made my choice, I will go for sure.
2- I want a family but not anytime soon ! no kids till I can afford em. Im so paranoid its gunna happen I got my girl on birth control and use condoms lol. screw kids lmfao. Also It looks like I spend a lot of money but I do save a lot also, Ive already got about a grand saved up since my last splurge on my $1800 lift kit. Right now Im kinda leaning towards the mobile detailing thing. I know a lot of people with really high end office jobs and im pretty sure I can get them to talk their coworkers into hiring me.. its not something Im going to quit my job for but if it gets steady, then I would.

I wash dishes already, and seeing as hooters is mainly fried items, Im not going to wash there... WAY TOO MUCH GREASE ! I wouldnt mind being a grill cook all you do is drop chit in the fryer and hit the timer.. pretty much no skill involved... also a reason not to work for hooter, my girls got more then any girl there, and I get to do more then looking. Ill post a pic for you pervs I guess since your gunna doubt her existence until you see... haha just keep rude comments to yourself please, I her enough of them everywhere we go.

I know, ive got my eyes on a set, just waiting for the guy to give up and sell em to me ! he wont part out the truck.

I got some performance pistons from sterling pistons that are .50 over you thing I should bore it and put em in or just re-ring, or go with a ebay set of std size ? other then that im just turning the crank and new rods with a simple rebuild kit.
